SAT/ACT changes for Fall 2020

SAT/ACT

The pandemic has caused many changes to standardized college testing for 2020, creating the need for testing centers to follow new health and safety guidelines. Though everything is subject to change, we have information on the current plans for these exams.

Both the SAT and ACT exams will have more test dates available this Fall than ever before, in order to give more opportunities to respect social distancing and reduced capacity for each testing site.

There are also health and safety requirements for each test taker, including that the student does not have COVID-19 and has not been exposed to it in the last 14 days, and that they must wear personal protective equipment. For the SAT Fall 2020 guidelines, visit the CollegeBoard Blog, and for ACT information amid COVID-19, visit the ACT website.

Test centers for the SAT and ACT will communicate with you via email about test center registration changes, such as closures or reduced capacity, as a result of evolving local COVID-19 conditions and adhering to CDC guidelines. Make sure you are regularly checking the email you signed up with up until your test date. If your test registration is canceled or your test center is closed, you can register for a future test date or different location. Good luck on your exams, and do your best amid the current conditions.
